About our project.
The core purpose of our database is to more efficiently assist Better Medical Care’s accounts receivable practices. The database makes tracking patient visits simple, and allows for an easy execution of billing to it’s partnered insurance companies. Replacing the company’s prior system of paper records and billing, the database allows for patient visits, payment transactions, co-pay information, and balance statements to be tracked in one user-friendly system. The most notable reason the database will be an asset to the company is the amount of time that will be saved by the staff, allowing for the practice to focus more on the patients it cares for. Having all records kept electronic, it becomes a one-stop-shop to obtain any information that would be needed at any time. No more thumbing through folders, organizing un--alphabetized files, and risking the loss of any record due to it only being on paper.
The Patients form allows for an easy creation of a new patient’s file. The database will automatically generate a Patient ID, and then it’s as simple as inputting the patient’s information. The Visit Diagnosis Sub-form will then allow you to input all details of the patient’s visit (i.e. reason for visit, diagnosis, etc.). The patient’s insurance information will then be added to the Insurance form. At the end of each month, an Outstanding Balance report will be generated to show the balance due from all insurance companies for the visits of patients in said month. There are also several other reports that can be generated by the database to better assist in patient tracking and billing to insurance companies.
